Every time we decide to go on vacation, take advantage of the holidays or even go out on the weekend, no matter where we go, the essential question is what can I do in the city I want to visit? Whether from visiting museums, handicraft markets, visiting archaeological sites or taking a gastronomic tour, in our country there are countless things to do every time you visit a city.
In the state of Querétaro we have several tourist attractions, and in this article we will talk about those found in San Juan del Río and the surrounding cities so that you can plan your perfect weekend while you stay at our facilities.
MUSEO DE LA MUERTE
Inaugurated in 1997, the Museum of Death is one of the tourist attractions of our city. Formerly used as the municipal pantheon, it has 450 tombs and several ceremonial ceramic pieces donated by the Regional Archeology Museum that give us a glimpse of the Mesoamerican cultures that lived here many years ago and their beliefs towards death. Besides that there is a representation of a burial-ritual for the god of fire.
It is definitely a different museum but just as interesting as many others. It is located on Calle 2 de Abril S / N, Col Centro, San Juan del Río, Querétaro, Mexico. Their hours of operation are from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon.
TRAVEL OF LEGENDS
Without a doubt one of the activities made for the whole family. On board a tram, the most important houses of San Juan del Río are visited, and the legends that these places harbor are told. With a duration of two hours, the master of ceremonies in charge of telling you the legends along with the rest of the staff, make you know a little more about the history of the city in a comical and interactive way.
The tour begins at the Jardin Independencia on the corner of Hidalgo at 8:45 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, holidays and vacation periods.
VISITS TO VINEYARDS
One of the main attractions of the state of Querétaro is the variety of vineyards distributed throughout the state, you can read about three of the many vineyards that we have here.
